Evan Rachel Wood

Evan Rachel Wood was conceived in Raleigh, North Carolina on September 7, 1987. Her father, Ira David Wood III is a theatre actor and writer, while her mother Sara Wood is an actress and acting coach. She is the daughter of Dana Wood, a musician and Ira David Wood III, an actor. Evan and her brothers performed at Theatre In The Park, Raleigh and her father serves as the director. She was just five when she auditioned to play the character of Interview with the Vampire: The Vampire Chronicles (1994). She moved to Los Angeles with her mom and brother Ira in 1996 and has been a hit ever since and has been featured in a variety of TV series, TV movies as well as feature films. She has appeared in Practical Magic (1998) as well as in the comedy S1m0ne (2002) as Al Pacino's daughter, and followed that with Thirteen (2003) which starred Holly Hunter. Her role in the film's breakout performance in the film as Tracy in "Thirteen" garnered her an award. Golden Globes nomination for Best Performance by an Actress in the genre of Motion Picture: Drama and for a Screen Actors Guild Award nomination for Outstanding Performance by an Actress Female in an Leading Role. She was the first actress nominated for the Leading Role award at the time. For her role as Veda Pierce, the HBO mini-series Mildred Pierce (2011) earned her an Emmy and Golden Globe nominations. Her remarkable portrayal of Stephanie Rourke's estranged daughter in Darren Aronofsky’s The Wrestler (2008) earned her acclaim. She is the daughter of Sara Wood and Ira David Wood III. Ira David Wood III's younger sister. She is a trained dancer. She is a lover of dancing or sing, play the rollblade and ride horses. She holds a black belt at tae Kwon-Do. She remains in contact with a lot of her Once and Again (1999 castmates: Mischa Barrton, Julia Whelan and Shane West.
