Zachary Galifianakis

Zachary Knight Galifianakis Greek pronunciation born on October 1st 1969) is an American comedian, actor, musician, and writer. He also appeared on Comedy Central Presents and hosted Late World With Zach on VH1. Galifianakis was in several films including The Hangover trilogy (2009-2013), Due Date (2010) and The Campaign (2012). He also appeared in Birdman or (The Unexpected Virtue of Ignorance (2014) as well as Masterminds (2016). He voiced characters in animated films, including Puss in Boots (2011), The Lego Batman Movie (2017), Missing Link (2019), and Ron's Gone WRONG (2021). Galifianakis is currently host of the Funny or Die talk show Between Two Ferns, with Zach Galifianakis. Galifianakis has appeared on the FX series Baskets. He was nominated in 2017 for the Primetime Emmy Award as Outstanding Lead Actor in Comedy Series. Zachary Knight Galifianakis was a native of Wilkesboro, North Carolina on October 1st 1970. His mother is English and Scottish-Irish, while his paternal grandparents come from Crete. The baptism was performed according to the Greek Orthodox faith of his father. He is the father of Merritt, a younger sister and Greg, a brother older than him. His cousin Nick Galifianakis is a Washington Post cartoonist, and his uncle, Nick Galifianakis is also a politician. Galifianakis attended Wilkes Central High School and after that, he attended North Carolina State University where he studied communications. Galifianakis worked at a public radio station while in college. He taught a waltz course in 1991, where he met with Mary J. Blige. After his television debut Boston Common, Galifianakis joined Saturday Night Live for two weeks. Galifianakis has said "I was for Saturday Night Live for two weeks, and Britney Spears was host for one week while I was on it. I sketched a picture. Will Ferrell was to be her bodyguard at her belly button. We planned to shrink Will to appear to be the belly button. When I explained the idea to them, she stared at me. She finally said it, "Yeah that is funny." Galifianakis co-starred in the film Out Cold, and had small parts in Corky Romano, Below, Bubble Boy, Heartbreakers, Into the Wild, Super High Me, Little Fish Strange Pond and Largo.
