Will Ferrell
Will Ferrell
was a member of the cast of Saturday Night Live before going on to be a star in
big-screen comedy films like 'Elf "Anchorman," and Talladega Nights.
Born in 1967 in Irvine, California, Will Ferrell started his career in comedy as
part of the improv group based in Los Angeles called the Groundlings. After a
seven-year run as a Saturday night Live cast member, Ferrell was one of the
most popular comedians in the business through off-color successes such as Old
School (2003) or Anchorman: The Legend of Ron Burgundy (2004). Ferrell also
co-founded the popular video streaming site Funny or Die, and was a successful
voiceover actor on animated movies such as Megamind (2010). John William
Ferrell was conceived in Irvine, California on July 16th, 1967. The youngest
child of Righteous Brothers keyboardist Lee Ferrell and teacher Kay Ferrell,
Will was--by his own admission--hardly the class clown in his time as an
student at University High School. He was quiet and quiet. Ferrell determined
to leave his mark on the football field which is where he established a school
record for most field goals made. Even in the more comfortable confines of his
suburban home, Ferrell displayed little of the outrageous, humorous outbursts
that would later help define his career. "Very even-tempered and
relaxed," his mother recalled in an interview with Esquire. "You are
familiar with those tiny Matchbox cars? Will put together his Matchbox cars
completely by himself and be completely content. It would be a simple question
"Do you wish to visit Disneyland this morning?" or "You want
your cars lined up?" and he'd have to think about the idea. Ferrell was
not a perfectly straight man, but that's not to say he was not. As he delivered
his daily announcements on the PA system, a glimpse of his comical talents was
shown every morning in high school. Ferrell graduated in 1986 and attended the
University of Southern California in Los Angeles. There he was a member of the
Delta Tau fraternity to pursue an education as a sports journalist.
